About the Artist
Nancy Prizant is a native of Des Moines; she graduated from North High school and attended Drake University.
Nancy has studied with artists such as: Haleh Niazmand, Ivan Fortushniak, Barri Lester, Anthony Pontius, Tracy Duran, and currently Jeff Rider. Her work reflects many influences of these artists of such varied backgrounds and styles. Other art instructors that have influenced her work include; Tom Hass, Ken Hosmer, Charles Rogers, Rose Edin, and Gene Hamilton.
Exhibits that have shown her work include a one woman show at the Ankeny Art Center, Twice at Zanzibar’s, several shows at Heritage Gallery, The Des Moines Women’s Club, and the Iowa State fair. Her work is in numerous personal and business collections.
Nancy has been a member of Allied Artists, and has been a board member of Metro Arts Alliance. Nancy currently paints from her studio in the Fitch building.
